Reflection:
I really liked working on this workshop together with Sebastian and Carla. We conbined our love for dance and music and moving together. At the start of the semester I felt a big urge to get our class to move. All the classes spent behind the ‘laptop-walls’ were getting to me. We all wrote the script together and picked songs that fit the moment of the workshop. We created a playlist and ordered it according to the script, timing it right. Each of us came up with exercises that suited us. We devided/ordered the script according to this as well. So Carla, with her dance background started us out with the warming up, then Sebastian guided us with some background on poses and their intentions. I continued with moving with the objects and breaking out of the norms. But what got me most excited was seeing everyone participate in the monkey see monkey do game I came up with. It was a fun group exercise for the dynamic, and I felt more connected with my peers after this.

What I would do differently if we hosted this workshop again, is giving a bit space for documentation in a way that the participants don’t feel watched.
We also had workshop sheets that I designed and printed for the group. On these sheets we had questions and asked the participants to draw their postures when thinking of their work/project/practice. To give them some insights on where they might get stuck. So we could get unstuck together!
I think the take away from hosting this workshop for me is that I like hosting workshops and that I want to do it more often. Maybe for a different theme, maybe more practical. But I liked organizing and thinking of details that could sustain multiple people.
